Five ways to create content for your social media

Your audience

First, do you know who your target client or customer is? Can you visualise them in your mind when you are working on your business?

If not, you need to do this. Think about who they are, what age, gender, occupation, family situation, what are their aspirations and goals in life. All these elements make up your ideal customer and you must keep them in mind when you are creating your content. Then you can work out what they expect to see from you and when?

Always create content and post with that person in mind.

Let people get to know you

People are following you as they have bought into your brand, let them see you, your values and your ethos. You don’t have to give them every detail about your life, you can choose what you do and don’t share but show them behind the scenes of your day, how you work, things to do with your business.

Your customer or client wants to know you, and the behind the scenes help to build your brand.

Social Media Trends

Try and keep up with social media trends, you don’t have to jump on each one but some of them may work well for your business, these can be surrounding current events, following challenges or a specific type of video.

By following the trend, you will reach new people who are following the trend. Don’t forget to use any associated hashtags!

Think engagement, engagement, engagement!

Social media is just that – social. So, think of how you can engage with your audience, try making polls, quizzes and contests. Keep it relevant to your business and listen to the answers of your audience. You can do this in stories, or you can even do it on reels now. And make sure when you’ve asked your audience a question that you feedback the results.

Share content from your users

User-generated content is a big win. When you customers share a picture or a review, tell your audience about it by sharing it with them.

A great way to do this is to ask your customers to tag you in any pictures about your brand. It’s a great way to reach new followers and then in turn add social proof to your own feed by posting them there.
